KOCAELİ'nin Körfez ilçesinde, kalça kırığı nedeniyle kaldırıldığı hastanede hayatını kaybeden Pentus Öktem'in (93) ardından 2 saat sonra kızı Nadiye Özkan (73) da yaşamını yitirdi.
Körfez ilçesine bağlı Erentepe Mahallesi'nde oturan Pentus Öktem, düşme sonucu kalça kemiği kırıldı. Derince Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi'nde tedavi altına alınan Öktem'e kanser hastası olan kızı Nadiye Özkan refakat etti. Bu sabah Pentus Öktem hayatını kaybetti. Annesinin vefatına çok üzülen Nadiye Özkan da hastane odasında fenalaştı. Kalp krizi geçirdiği belirlenen Nadiye Özkan, doktorların tüm müdahalelerine rağmen annesinden 2 saat sonra hayatını kaybetti.
Anne ve kızı yapılan işlemler sonrası ikindi namazının ardından Körfez Esentepe Mahallesi Sultan Murat Camiinde kılınan cenaze namazı sonrası Körfez Asri Mezarlığında toprağa verildi.
