Cumhurbaşkanı Recep Tayyip Erdoğan'ın eşi Emine Erdoğan, Kolombiya Cumhurbaşkanı Gustavo Petro'nun eşi Veronica Alcocer Garcia ile New York'ta bir araya geldi
Birleşmiş Milletler (BM) 78. Genel Kurul toplantıları kapsamında New York'ta bulunan Cumhurbaşkanı Erdoğan'ın eşi Emine Erdoğan, Garcia ile Türkevi’nde bir araya geldi.
Görüşmede, Emine Erdoğan ve Garcia, kadın hakları, eğitimde fırsat eşitliği ve atık yönetimi konusunda bilgi paylaşımında bulundu.
Garcia, Emine Erdoğan'ı BM Genel Sekreteri Antonio Guterres'in teklifiyle üstlendiği BM Sıfır Atık Danışma Kurulu Başkanlığından dolayı tebrik etti.
Garcia'yı İstanbul'a davet etti
Emine Erdoğan, 2015'te Kolombiya'yı ziyaret ettiğine değinerek Garcia’yı "31 Ekim Dünya Şehirler Günü" vesilesiyle İstanbul’da ağırlamak istediğini söyledi.
Emine Erdoğan, görüşmenin ardından yaptığı sosyal medya paylaşımında da şu ifadelere yer verdi:
"Kolombiya Devlet Başkanı’nın kıymetli eşi Veronica Alcocer Garcia ile Türkevi’nde bir araya geldik. Sıfır Atık projemizle 2017'den bugüne elde ettiğimiz kazanımları ve deneyimlerimizi paylaşarak, atık yönetimine dair işbirliği alanlarımızı görüştük. Kadın liderliğinin güçlendirilmesi ve eğitimde fırsat eşitliği konularını ele aldık. Kendilerini ülkemizde ağırlamaktan duyacağım memnuniyeti belirttim."
