Kaymakam Şakir Erden, Garnizon Komutanı Adem Tol ve Belediye Başkanı Özkan Özgüven’in öğrenci ve vatandaşların bayramlarını kutlamasının ardından İstiklal Marşı okundu.Günün anlam ve önemini belirten bir konuşma yapan Kaymakam Şakir Erden, yurdun düşman işgalinden kurtarılması, cumhuriyetin ilan edilmesinin en büyük miras olarak Türk milletine bırakıldığını ve vazgeçilmez değerler olduğunu söyledi.Öğrencilerin okuduğu şiirlerin ardından 72 yaşındaki Hatice Ateş isimli teyze ezbere okuduğu şiirlerle kutlamalara damga vurdu. Okuduğu şiirlerle hem duygulandıran hem de büyük alkış alan Hatice Teyze kutlamaların en renkli siması oldu. Şiir, kompozisyon ve spor dallarında dereceye giren öğrencilere ödüllerinin verilmesinin ardından halk oyunları gösterileri sergilendi. Daha sonra spor gösterileri ve tören geçidi ile program son buldu.
