Kaza, saat 10.00 sıralarında Bitlis- Diyarbakır kara yolunun 30'uncu kilometresinde bulunan Buzlupınar mevkinde meydana geldi.
Bitlis'ten Diyarbakır yönüne giden 28 AAK 325 plakalı TIR, sürücünün direksiyon hakimiyetini kaybetmesi sonucu yol ortasına devrildi.
Kazada ismi açıklanmayan sürücü olay yerinde hayatını kaybederken, Kurban Bayramı için batı illerine götürülen 300 koyundan 150'si öldü.
Kazanın ardından olay yerine sağlık, AFAD ve jandarma ekipleri sevk edildi. Kazada kurtulan hayvanlar AFAD ekipleri tarafından dorse kesilerek kurtarılırken, hayatını kaybeden sürücü ise otopsi yapılmak üzere Bitlis Devlet Hastanesi'ne kaldırıldı. Kazayla ilgili de soruşturma başlatıldı.
